For those who just haven’t gotten around to claiming a lottery prize, better hurry. The N.C. Education Lottery deadline to make claims for 10 of its instant scratch-off games is Thursday, Feb. 3. In November, the NCEL officially announced the end of the 10 instant scratch-off games effective Nov. 5, 2010. Under NCEL policy, all instant game prizes must be claimed within 90 days of the announced end-of-game date.
Claims under $600 can be made at a lottery retailer before midnight on Feb. 3. Claims of $600 to $99,999 must be made at one of the six regional claim centers before 5 p.m. on Feb. 3, while claims of $100,000 and above must be made at NCEL headquarters in Raleigh before 5 p.m. on that day as well. Claims that are mailed to the NCEL must be received within 90 days of the official end-of-game date. Postmarks will not satisfy the 90-day requirement.
Prizes on these games must be claimed by Thursday, Feb. 3.
