Man wins $100,000 at Mint Hill store

The Mint Hill TimesRandolph Balzer, a handyman from Charlotte, has some extra cash on hand after winning $100,000 instantly. He scratched off the $100,000 prize on a $200 Million Extravaganza instant game in the N.C. Education Lottery.
“I still can’t believe it,” Balzer said as he claimed his prize money. “I never dreamed I would win on a scratch-off like this. I thought I would win on Cash 5.”

He purchased his winning ticket, worth $68,006 after taxes, at the Xpress Shop on Idlewild Road in Mint Hill. This is the store at the corner of Idlewild Road and Margaret Wallace.
