Mint Hill Junior Legion team stays alive in playoffs

The Mint Hill Junior Legion team, which was 15-1 in conference play heading into the playoffs, beat Belmont last night at Independence High School to stay alive in the 5-game series. Belmont won the first two games.

Alex Bronkar had four of Mint Hill’s 17 hits and pitcher Matt Baltimore gave up one run over four innings for the win.

Mint Hill heads back out to South Point High School in Gaston County tonight for game 4. The winner plays for the Area championship and will earn a birth in the state playoffs in Cary next week.
