From May 3 through June 12, members of the Mint Hill community can join BI-LO in supporting local non-profit.
Customers can make donations to BI-LO Charities’ fundraising efforts by adding $1 or more to their grocery bill. These donations stay in the Mint Hill community and help our neighbors who are in need.
Each local BI-LO location has identified a local charity to support with the funds raised. The BI-LO store located at 9108 Lawyers Road is raising funds for Mint Hill Lions Club.
“Our store teams are passionate about getting involved in the communities where they work and live. This commitment to our neighbors in need has always been part of BI-LO’s culture,” said BI-LO Charities Executive Director Carol Browning.
Along with supporting local non-profits through in-store fundraisers, members of the community are also invited to participate in the BI-LO Charity Classic, which will take place in Greenville, S.C., June 6-7, 2010. Funds from player spots purchased by residents of the Mint Hill area will be allocated back to non-profit organizations in the player’s local community. Individual player spots are priced at $850 and include 18 holes at a prestigious course as well as tickets for the player and a guest to the auction and pairing party and a post-tournament awards banquet. Additionally, this year marks the first time tickets can be purchased separately for the Auction and Pairings Party on Sunday, June 6.

About the BI-LO Charity Classic
The BI-LO Charity Classic began in 1983 as a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels and has grown to be the largest one-day charity golf tournament in the country. During the past 26 years the tournament has raised more than $48 million to support hundreds of charities throughout BI-LO’s four-state operating area of South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Funds from the Charity Classic go toward supporting organizations that focus on BI-LO Charities’ key initiatives, including children, education and hunger relief.
