Myrick votes for Defense bill

US Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) today voted in favor of the 2010 Department of Defense Appropriations Act. The bill appropriates FY 2010 funds for the Department of Defense. The House version of the Defense Appropriations bill passed in July with Rep. Myrick’s support.

“The first priority of the United States government is to ensure national security,” Rep. Myrick said. “This bill adequately funds our military and ensures that our troops have the resources and equipment to defend our citizens”.

The FY 2010 bill includes increased funding for military compensation and military health care programs, as well as sufficient funding for the purchase of vital military equipment.

The FY 2010 Department of Defense Appropriations Bill passed by a vote of 395-34.
