New mayor takes reigns in Matthews

James (Jim) P. Taylor was sworn in as the 17th Mayor of Matthews Monday night. Taylor replaces R. Lee Myers who served as the Mayor of Matthews for 18 years.

Jim Taylor served on the Matthews Town Board for five terms having been elected in 1999. He is active in the community as a board member of the Matthews HELP Center and the Matthews Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors as treasurer and secretary.
