Saturday was a bazaar day in Mint Hill and Matthews

Both Philadelphia Presbyterian Church and Levine Senior Center hosted bazaars on Saturday. The church bazaar was the 39th for the women of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church according to Susan Griffin. In addition to the bazaar, there was a breakfast,  chicken pot pie dinner, silent auction, and a yard sale on the front lawn of the church. The Levine Senior Center was taken over Saturday by the bazaar as cars overflowed the parking lot. They even had to have valet parking at one point. No surprise: Myrick votes against House health care bill

Rep. Sue Myrick released a statement yesterday on Saturday’s U.S. House vote to overhaul the health care system in the U.S. Myrick calls it a “government takeover” of healthcare, while the Dems say it will help to insure most of the millions without coverage, and not allow insurance companies to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. The Senate will most likely vote in the next two weeks on its bill, and then the House and Senate will get together to craft a single bill which need to be voted on again by both bodies.
