George and Helene Mueller hosted their annual Hawaiian Luau at their home in Mint Hill for neighbors, family and friends on Saturday, August 29. The Mueller’s hosted the event as a benefit to support “Workers in the Harvest”…a non-profit organization that provides food and essential supplies to needy families.
Helene’s dance company, “The Aloha Nui Loa Tahitian Troupe” performed at the Luau and featured several authentic dances including Hawaiian, Tahitian and Samoan. This year there was a total of nine dancers including Helene and her daughter, Rinita Cowick, who acted as the lead dancers.
For guests attending the event, there were awards given for “Best Costume” and for the winner of the Limbo Contest. Helene’s husband, George Mueller, orchestrated the music for the show and also made the authentic costumes that Helene and her dancers wore during the event.
