Cotswold parents learned from Mint Hill parents?

Parents from the Cotswold area were out in force to show support for keeping their kids at East Meck.  From WSOC TV’s Web site:

At Tuesday night’s school board meeting, more than 150 people from the Cotswold Neighborhood attended to try and persuade the school board to delay any decision. The board is not expected to vote on any potential change until late October or November. The discussion comes in response to the move to take hundreds of students from East Mecklenburg High School to fill the new Mint Hill High School, which opens next fall.


$1 million in stimulus grants available for local diesel equipment owners

Grants to Replace Aging Diesel Engines+ (GRADE+) will assist businesses in the Charlotte region with replacing their heavy-duty diesel equipment, vehicles or engines. More than 100,000 pieces of equipment in the 13-county region that straddles North and South Carolina are eligible to participate in this $1 million grant opportunity. GRADE+ grants are an excellent opportunity for participants to reduce maintenance costs, increase fuel efficiency and extend the life of their equipment while breathing easier financially with assistance from stimulus funds.
Past GRADE+ grant recipients include Baucom Service Inc., Blythe Development Co., Bruce R. Jenkins and Associates, Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, City of Gastonia, Culp Brothers Inc., Duke Energy, Gaston County Solid Waste, Hoopaugh Grading Co., McWhirter Grading Co., Mecklenburg County Storm Water Services, Okuma America Corp., Piedmont Airlines, Radco Construction Services, TRANSFLO Terminal Services Inc. and US Airways.
