Performing and literary artists can apply for up to $5,000 to support their artistic development through the Regional Artist Project Grant program.

The grant application deadline is Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at noon. Applications and guidelines are available at

Artists who have lived in the counties of Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Rutherford, and York for one year are eligible to apply.

Grant awards may be used for a variety of projects, such as attendance at workshops, development of a production and/or CD or to develop or upgrade promotional materials.

The Regional Artist Project Grant Program is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, with funding from the state of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as the Blumenthal Endowment and the arts councils of the participating counties.
