Mint Hill dog park update: estimates in, committee to be formed

Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs License by SARhoundsTown Manager Brian Welch, in a memo sent to the Board of Commissioners last week, said estimates for building a dog park in Mint Hill came back from Mecklenburg County. Depending on the amenities in the park, it will cost between $75,000-$100,000. There are no funds set aside for the park, so money will have to found elsewhere. Welch also told the board they will form a dog park committee.

I do feel it would be prudent to establish the committee so that we could gauge overall interest and further investigate the possibility of alternate funding sources,” Welch said in the memo.

If the board approves the park, it will be built around the town’s communication tower near Fairview Park.
