Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Child Nutrition Services will participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service Program this year from June 15 through August 7 and serve meals at more than 120 locations across Mecklenburg County.
The program provides nutritious meals for free to children 18 years of age or younger. The meals will be served at several locations including CMS schools, churches, YMCA branches and summer-camp programs. All locations serve lunch, with 35 also serving breakfast. Most sites serve meals Monday through Friday; serving times and days vary per location.
Families who have questions should call CMS Child Nutrition Services at 980-343-6041. Go to the CMS Web site for a list of meal locations, dates and times of operation. CMS has been participating in the program for more than 30 years.
