The summer food service program runs through Friday, August 7 at more than 120 sites in Mecklenburg County. The program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will provide free meals at several open sites to all children who live in the county. These sites include most CMS schools and some churches, YMCA branches and summer camp programs. Children must meet the national school lunch program income guidelines to be eligible to receive free meals at closed locations. Families who have questions should call CMS Child Nutrition Services at 980-343-6041. Click here for a list of meal locations, dates and times of operation. CMS has been participating in the program for more than 30 years.
