ESPN ranks Butler’s Cierra Burdick top of her class

Cierra Burdick, who might just be the best basketball talent in Mecklenburg County since Antawn Jamison, ranks near the top of ESPN Hoopgurlz Terrific 25 list of the 2011 class. Burdick is currently playing for the national 16U team and is the only North Carolina player in ESPN’s top 25.

Children’s World Museum heading to Matthews?

Jerry and Sue Helms, the founders of the Children’s World Museum, will present an overview of the museum to the Matthews town council tonight. Jerry Helms said last week he had a few locations in mind to move the museum. The museum was closed abruptly last week after Helms got word that the Mint Hill was not going to help with funding.
