• Mint Hill Arts is having a Spring Student Art Show opening reception tonight.
• At the Farmers’ Market Saturday, the Mint Hill Historical Society and the Charlotte Medical Clinic – Mint Hill, will begin a series of Health Talks presented by the doctors at the Clinic.
• Tonight at sundown the town of Mint Hill will show Beverly Hills Chihuahua on the lawn of town hall.
Mint Hill Arts:
Mint Hill Arts’ May Exhibit will feature the talents of area children, teens and young adults at the opening reception of the 2009 Spring Student Art Show. Students from area high schools, colleges and home schools will compete for prizes in 2D and 3D categories. The winners will be announced at the reception.The competition is complemented by an exhibit of work by kids age 5-13 from area elementary schools. Come join the fun and support the next generation of Fine Artists! Opening Reception is Friday, May 8, 7:00-9:00 pm and the exhibit runs through June 6.
Farmers’ Market at the historical society:
Tomorrow the Charlotte Medical Clinic – Mint Hill, will begin a series of Health Talks presented by the doctors at the Clinic. Dr. Stephanie Simon will present the first workshop on Osteoporosis at 10am in the Ashcraft Schoolhouse at the Carl J. McEwen Historic Village. After the talk, they will provide free bone density screenings. Once a month during the Farmers’ Market, a doctor from CMC will speak on another subject and offer other free screenings.
