Matthews HELP Center announced the addition of Kim Rhodarmer as Executive Director. Rhodarmer has more than 16 years of experience providing assistance to children and families in crisis through both CMS Schools as a School Social Worker at both Crown Point and Winterfield Elementary Schools, and prior to that as a Juvenile Court Counselor in Mecklenburg County North Carolina and Lexington County, S.C. She has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout her career, the most recent being the Employee Excellence Award through CMS in May 2008.

As the new Executive Director, she is a welcomed addition to our staff and volunteers as she brings a fresh perspective to increase assistance to people in our area and establish new partnerships. Kim has the dedication, commitment, and motivation to propel this organization to a new level of service for the Matthews community.
Matthews HELP Center is a 501.c.3 organization established in 1979 to provide financial crisis assistance to people in need in the Matthews area. With 150 regular volunteers donating in excess of 20,000 hours, we provide financial assistance, Food Pantry, Bounce-back Backpack program, clothing, Backporch Treasures Thrift Store, free blood pressure checks, free ESL classes, Thanksgiving Meals, Christmas Gift sponsorships, Back-to-School Clothing partnership, School Supplies and other resources. 2007-2008 Statistics: 68 volunteers delivered 5900 meals, Crisis Assistance given to 1871 individuals, Food given to 1023 individuals, 46 pieces of medical equipment loaned, 203 blood pressure checks performed by registered nurses
