Allen Tate Realtors from the several offices joined with more than 700 realtor colleagues to participate in Realtors Care Day.
The inaugural event, an initiative of the Housing Opportunity Foundation (HOF) of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association, was held April 24. Realtor teams worked at 33 homesites throughout Mecklenburg and Iredell counties, helping homeowners make necessary exterior repairs on homes in critical need. Targeted homes were identified by regional Habitat for Humanity chapters and the City of Charlotte Neighborhood Development.
“This was an amazing opportunity to offer a helping hand to homeowners in our community struggling to make repairs to their homes and pay their mortgage during these challenging times,” said Judy Kendall, Branch Manager, Allen Tate Mint Hill office. “By giving of a few hours of our time, we helped make a huge difference in the lives of elderly and disabled citizens and those living in unsafe or substandard conditions.”
Nancy White and Judy Kendall from the Allen Tate Mint Hill Branch office participated in the day long project.
The event was made possible through the support of individuals, organizations and businesses throughout the community. HOF also received a $5,000 grant from the National Association of Realtors to help launch the initial Realtors Care Day, which is expected to become an annual community project.
