Some citizens of Mint Hill are baffled by the proposed boundaries for the high school to be located in Clear Creek Business Park. (view a PDF of the proposed boundaries) The Board has four options, the first of which will pull from kids as far north as neighborhoods adjacent to the Hidden Valley neighborhood. CMS will hold workshops this month for citizens to provide feedback. Here are the times and places for the new Mint Hill high school discussions:

Tuesday, March 24

Independence High (1967 Patriot Drive)

First community meeting to discuss boundary options for the new Mint Hill high school and the new Robinson Church Road elementary school.

Tuesday, April 2

Butler High (1810 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Matthews)

Second community meeting to discuss boundary options for the new Mint Hill high school and the new Robinson Church Road elementary school.

All of the community meetings will be held from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. CMS staff will present recommendations to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education on Tuesday, May 12. A public hearing and vote on the boundary recommendations is scheduled for the June 9 Board meeting.
