Independence’s Jasmine Hunter was selected for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program

jasmine-hunterIndependence High School senior Jasmine Hunter was selected for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program at Appalachian State University. Hunter is the daughter of Pat Swaby. She is a Teacher Cadet at Independence, in the AIS (Academy of International Studies) and is a captain on the volleyball team. Five-hundred scholarships are given each year to students attending one of 18 colleges and universities in North Carolina. More than 800 students went through the application process. Appalachian State was Hunter’s first choice and she said she is very excited.
