Last weekend students from John Hess’ (teacher) FFA club at Independence High School planted flowers, shrubs and trees at the restroom project here at the village. Judy Stanley, who creates the beautiful flower beds at the town’s properties, designed the plan and enlisted the students. I’ve attached a few pictures, and hope you are interested in using them in the paper. Students : Allie Valiente, Alfredo Valiente, Summer Stanley, Hayley Williams and Desmond Stephens. MHAA baseball opening day canceled

PuddleThe opening day for the Mint Hill Athletic Association baseball season, scheduled for tomorrow, has been canceled due to the rain.

“We’ll pick up with the schedule when the weather clears back up,” MHAA President Don McDaniel said.

The association will have a Family Fun Day on April 25 as a make up for the cancellation of Opening Day.

“It will be the same as opening day, except without the opening pitch,” McDaniel said.
