The Butler Lady Bulldogs (26-1) will face Providence (8-14) and Independence (18-7) will travel to Berry Academy (8-16) tomorrow night in the first round of the state basketball playoffs. Both games begin at 7 pm. The Lady Bulldogs are coming off its first SW4A confernce championship¬† title, are ranked first in the state of North Carolina, and are ranked in several national polls. Indpendence, which has had an outstanding season in the toughest conference in the state, will have to face Berry despite having a better record because the Lady Cardinals play in a 4A-3A conference. In the men’s brackets, Butler boys (14-12) will travel to West Mecklenburg (18-7) tonight at 7 pm for its first round game.
