The Town of Mint Hill will be sponsoring its third annual Chili Cook-Off on Wednesday, February 18 to support the Arts & Science Council’s Annual Fund Drive. The event will take place in the John M. McEwen Assembly Room, Mint Hill Town Hall from 11:30 am to 2 pm.[singlepic=664,320,240,,right] ASC provides direct investments and services to arts, science and history/heritage organizations in Mint Hill and throughout Mecklenburg County.The public is invited to enter their chili, and all entries will be judged by a special-guest chef. The cost is $5 to taste and vote for a favorite bowl. There is no fee to enter your chili. Attendees may also purchase full bowls-to-go for $3 each. The town has also scured several great prizes including tickets to Discovery Place, The Levine Museum of the South, the Charlotte History Museum and the Charlotte Children’s Choir. Independence High School will have two reunions this year. The Class of 1979 will hold its 30th reunion on May 16, 7:00 pm – Midnight at the Charlotte Marriott Executive Park near Tyvola and Interstate 77.
