Head Coach Mike Newsome said several times in the past few weeks he believes this is the best defense he’s had at Butler. Friday night, the Bulldogs backed up Newsome’s statements by shutting out Myers Park 31-0. Safety Nate Charest had two interceptions and senior Jacob Davis added another as the Bulldogs moved to 7-0 for the season.

The Mustangs turned the ball over four of their last eight drives and didn’t move the ball past the Bulldogs’ 30 yard line for the game.

The Bulldogs offense was efficient, scoring 24 points in the second quarter and added another touchdown at the beginning of the third quarter to seal the victory. The offense scored on five consecutive drives including a 49 yard field goal by Vaughn Bandy.

Quarterback Christian LeMay was 8-16 for 155 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Markel Moore ran 21 times for 138 yards and one touchdown.
