Independence takes down South Meck

Running back Harold Blythe took over the Independence offense Friday. Blythe scored four touchdowns and rushed for 110 yards on 14 carries. Blythe set a personal record for touchdowns Friday, despite expecting not to play such a vital role in the Patriots’ offense.  He expects that role to grow as the season progresses.
“I think now they have some trust in me running the ball, so I think we’ll get so more runs going,” he said.
He still has room for improvement. Coach Tom Knotts said Blythe has to be a better runner in goal-line situations, but he has experience and good quickness.
