With six weeks to go, North Carolinians still aren’t sure who they want to vote for. McCain and Obama are tied in the most recent Civitas Institute poll, while Elizabeth Dole leads Kay Hagen 43-41 in the Senate race. Obama has outspent McCain 10-1 in North Carolina according to some estimates.

“Sen. Obama has caught John McCain in the polls in North Carolina,” said Francis De Luca, executive director of the Civitas Institute. “A state that was once thought to be solidly in McCain’s camp has become a toss-up according to this month’s poll.”
