[singlepic=165,200,120,,left]Lebanon Road Elementary is one of several Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools wishing for “whirled” peace today. Students made pinwheels to express their feelings on world events as part of Pinwheels for Peace events today and tomorrow. The pinwheels are part of International Peace Day, held September 21 every year.
The project involves students decorating pinwheels and writing their thoughts about war and peace, tolerance, and living with others in harmony. The students will plant their pinwheels in front of their school to support peace.
The event In 2007, more than 1.2 million pinwheels were spinning at 2,500 locations across the world.
