The Bulldogs got off to a slow start, but thanks to a stingy defense, outlasted the Cougars tonight 31-13 at Vance. In a light drizzle most of the game, Markel Moore rushed 15 times for 102 yards and a touchdown and sophomore Jawaun Edwards ran for 40 yards and two TDs.

But the night belonged to the defense, which bailed out the no-frills Butler offense. Vance mustered just 71 offensive yards in the first half. In the second half, the Cougars managed two clock-eating drives, but could only get six points. The Cougars rushed for just 50 yards in the game.
