Street racing ring broken in Mint Hill

A street racing ring which Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have had an eye for several weeks was broken up last night on I-485 in Mint Hill. Four of the guys were caught, while others got away.

Police say they have tips that could lead to the arrest of more. None of the four arrested lived in Mint Hill. Two of the men have prior records including breaking into cars and assault with a deadly weapon. Police say the racers reached speeds of 120 MPH. The cars they used were supped up Honda Civics. Guess gas prices haven’t curbed drag racing. Arrested: Gabriel Cisneros, Rudy Alexis Argueta, Tyler Kale and Alexi Jose Bautista.

  1. At least they were trying to be safe and blocked off the highway. Maybe we need to bring back Shuffletown to keep kids like this off the public highways.
