Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools reported today more schools throughout the district met expected academic growth or had high academic growth. One hundred twenty-three schools made expected and high growth in 2007-2008, compared to 102 school in 2006-2007.
CMS reported July 21 fewer schools met adequate yearly progress standards according to the No Child Left Behind Act. All students must perform at grade level by 2014 to meet adequate yearly progress.
So in one measurement the schools are doing better than last year, but in another measurment they are not meeting adequate yearly progress?
