Former Independence defensive back DeVonte Holloman is still not officially enrolled at his new school, according to The Rock Hill Herald. Holloman needs to sign a statement affirming his parents are separated and he moved to the Rock Hill South Pointe district with his father. Holloman left Independence earlier this summer.
He was joined at South Pointe by Independence teammate Dominique Walker. The Herald reported there are questions about Walker’s eligibility. The district could rule him ineligible because he was suspended for 14 games while at Independence.
According to the Herald, South Carolina High School League rules say players must be eligible in a sport to play after transferring to another school.
